Baker DD6 Direct Drive 6-speed transmission

Posted By info On 13/01/2007 @ 12:13 pm In Driveline | No Comments

BAKER DRIVETRAIN has developed the DD6 (Direct Drive 6-speed) transmission for H-D Softails, FXRs, FLTs and Dynas which see a lot of highway use.

The system provides direct power transfer from the engine by reducing the number of gears when cruising in 6th gear, resulting in less noise and vibrations and greater efficiency.

In addition, the 4th, 5th and 6th gears are helical for smoother operation, though the first three gears remain conventional to enable optimum handling of starting-off torque.

Other features include a 28-tooth compensating sprocket, longer primary chain, anti-overshift ratchet pawl, fixed spindle shift drum and a chrome trap-door with an engraved DD6 logo.

The DD6 has been chosen by Big Dog for fitment in all their motorcycles.
