Billy Lane’s Retail Store to Close

Posted By info On 19/01/2007 @ 05:25 pm In Editorial | No Comments

We have received info that Billy Lane has closed his retail store. According to Mr. Lane’s PR team, because Billy is such an “innovator” in the industry, he is going to keep his retail shop open 24/7. Then it is mentioned that it’s ONLINE only and that the actual Melbourne store will be closed. The retail store will only open during major motorcycle events. No major announcement was made about it, just a small sign on the door and a blurb on the website.

Billy is scheduled to go on trial in just about a month so, draw your own conclusions.

Here are some of the facts about Billy’s case as we know them. Billy Lane was driving his Dodge truck on Labor Day. He hit and killed Gerald Morelock. More than one witness said they saw Billy trying to pass at least two, if not three vehicles. He crossed a double yellow line to achieve this. A double yellow line for the very few drivers who don’t know means NO PASSING. Billy was slightly injured in the accident and his passenger was also injured. We don’t know the extent of those injuries. Billy was taken to a hospital where he was forced to take a blood alcohol test. He tried to resist but because there was a death involved the police had the authority to take the blood regardless of Billy’s wishes. Billy Lane had a blood alcohol content of .092. The legal limit is .08. Billy Lane is free on $15,000 bail for killing someone.

Billy did not deliberately try to end someone’s life, but now has to pay the penalty for being way too reckless. Nobody is going to win in this situation apart from the respective legal teams – certainly not Billy or the Morelock family who have lost a loved one. We only hope Billy will learn from all this and will soon be back on the street a changed man.
