INTREPID CYCLES DEBUTS AT CINCINNATI V-TWIN EXPO

INTREPID CYCLES has chosen the Cincinnati V-Twin Expo to launch its custom production model line up for 2007.

The company, founded by Mike McGinley and Don Biron, is the first custom manufacturer to offer the S&S Twin Cam engine series across its range. Intrepid has also completed the industry’s first EPA and CARB testing for its S&S Twin Cam design.

For 2007, the company is starting up with two production custom models – a Chopper and a Pro-street. The Resolute model is a Softail chopper with a 300mm rear tire and a 54-degree raked frame. The Pro-street model is the Steadfast, which also features a 300 tire, this time in a 40-degree raked frame. Both bikes come with Baker six-speed transmissions, Hawg Halters brakes, Supreme Legend forward controls, and a range of custom choices for both paint and wheels.

“We know this market is highly competitive and we’ve taken our decision to become a custom manufacturer very seriously,” said McGinley. “This is why we’ve invested a lot of time and resources into setting up a facility and creating motorcycle designs that offer something different for enthusiasts. Our bikes, which have gone through 10,000 miles of actual on and off road tests, meet industry regulations and are completely quality-driven at every level.”

Intrepid is focused on using all American-made products and giving dealers and riders many value-added design features built-in. The company’s motorcycles come standard with many chromed components and high-end paint schemes.

The company’s plans include the release of another model in late 2007 and it is currently working aggressively on a fuel-injected platform for future designs.

“We are shaping Intrepid to become synonymous with excellent customer service and premier quality building,” said Tim Fuller, Intrepid’s backer. “We’ve partnered with some of the industry’s leading names to develop our product line and we are also doing design and fabrication work in-house. Intrepid is different from other start-ups because we have a very strong combination of expertise in both design and business operations that gives us the advantage to be able to sustain and grow alongside the industry.”
