No Mariachi band, no pulque-tasting experience, no Señor! Half a dozen slightly dinged vintage Panheads and Shovelheads painted black and white were warming up their ancient cases. The fleet of Mexico’s one and only Halcones motorcycle drill team were making their European premiere. During three half-hour presentations, the 14 boys and girls of the Halcones roared, slid, jumped, and sputtered across and around the W&W race grounds, alone, two-up, three-up, six-up, backwards, standing, kneeling, three bikes across, and whatever else goes, in front of standing ovations from an overwhelmed audience of connoisseur bikers. If you ever find the Halcones performing in a town near you, don’t miss them at any costs.
