Big Bear Choppers’ Sneak Peak at New Model

010307amd.jpgThe new, as yet, un-named production model from Big Bear choppers takes its styling cues from Pro-Street models and adds a set of integrated hard bags. However, Big Bear Choppers is quick to emphasis that it is not a Bagger. Andy Meadors, Marketing Director said: “We will be developing a touring version. It will get additional front end bodywork. At the moment we consider this more of a weekend away bike.”

Talking about the progressive styling of the bike Andy explained: “The passenger sits in front of the rear wheel. We’ve moved both the rider and passenger forward placing more weight in the center of the bike to produce better handling and comfort.”

Big Bear Choppers’ Lead Designer, Keith Garcia, said “The basic inspiration came from friends who have had Choppers and then got Baggers and regretted the change, but like the functionality of Baggers. So I was trying to blend the best of two worlds.

“You’ve got the look and feel of an aggressive motorcycle, but with functionality too,” he added.

When the new design goes into full production it will feature the new S&S X-Wedge motor, which will also be fitted to the majority of Big Bear Choppers 2008 model range.

“This new bike represents just a small part of the new innovations and industry leading design that is coming out of Big Bear Choppers,” said Kevin Alsop, owner of Big Bear Choppers. He continued: “It is our goal to drive this market forward and deliver a product line to our dealers that is not only sellable in the market of today, but will be in high demand by the new demographic of consumer. Just wait and see what’s next from Big Bear Choppers, cool is cool, and cool will never die.”
