Saxon Completes Steps to put Mad Jack into Production
CASA GRANDE, ARIZ– June 26, 2007 – After much critical acclaim at the unveiling of the prototype in Cincinnati, Saxon Motorcycle Company has released the Mad Jack into full production. The Mad Jack is an aggressive V-Twin Streetfighter designed by master builder Gard Hollinger of L.A.County Choprods. The Mad Jack is the second production motorcycle that Gard has designed for Saxon. It will arrive at dealers in September as a2008 model. In 2005, Saxon unveiled the Black Crown, which quickly became one of Saxon’s best sellers. Based on its success, Saxon partnered with Gard to create a bike that would look like no other production motorcycle and be incredibly fun to ride. The result is a true statement in modern motorcycle design. Gard’s knowledge and respect for motorcycle history makes the Mad Jack a true American original.Saxon uses a highly structured production line for final assembly of its motorcycles. In addition, numerous quality control checks and procedures are utilized and tracked in order to monitor performance trends and ensure continuous improvement.

The Mad Jack features numerous, unique “old-school modernistic” styling elements, unlike those found on any other production motorcycle. These components include: a proprietary frame, gas tank, fenders, machined aluminum strut system, LACC beehive side mounted oil filter, Moon Eyes barrel type oil tank and LACC hydraulic seat shock dampening system. In addition, each Mad Jack will be numbered and signed.

Orange County Choppers crew reported missing in Bering Sea

We don’t do much on OCC, but this one was just too good to pass up. Thanks to Unconfirmed Sources for the story.

(Dutch Harbor , Ucs News )

The Discovery channel producer Thom Beers is reporting a celebrity guest appearance on his show Deadliest Catch may have gone tragically wrong. According to Beers, Paul Teutul Sr. and his sons, Paul Jr. & Mikey, were sharing the deck of the 187 foot long crab boat Alaskan Star when a massive ice storm slashed the Bering Sea.

Coast Guard radar operators lost contact with the Alaskan Star as the ship neared an ice flow in rough seas. According to reports from the area 159 miles northwest of ST.Paul island the seas were cresting at 75ft. Farwest Leader captain Greg Moncrief briefly search for evidence of the Alaskan Star but was forced to leave the area due to rough seas. “I was tough out there, I hope they are okay. I love Orange County Choppers I would hate for anything bad to happen.”

According to the Discovery channel the Teutul’s were in Alaska filming the season 4 primer episode of the Deadliest Catch. Beers stated that aboard the Alaskan Star Paul Sr. was acting captain while Paul Jr. was stationed on deck. The always put upon Mikey Teutul had taken the position as green horn and bait boy.

Deadliest Catch show host and narrator Mike Rowe has taken a leave of absence from filming Dirty Jobs to join the search for the Alaskan Star and the Teutul’s. “The drama makes great TV but Thom will never forgive me if his two best programs are sunk in one storm.”

Billy Lane criminal case delayed

BY KEYONNA SUMMERS

FLORIDA TODAY

Lawyers for Billy Lane, the famed motorcycle builder charged with DUI manslaughter, will next appear in court Sept. 21, more than a year after the accident that left a Melbourne Beach man dead.

At a hearing Friday in Viera, Circuit Judge Meryl Allawas granted a request by Lane’s attorneys, hired earlier this year, to postpone the case until late September while they continue to investigate the charges.

Lane faces 15 years in prison if convicted.

“There’s work that we need to do that is ongoing,” said defense lawyer Robert Berry. “These (types of cases) take whatever time they take, and the court’s always interested in giving people a fair trial, especially with the penalties involved in a case like this.”
Among other things, Berry said the defense wants to arrange a date to inspect the condition of blood samples taken that night.

Assistant State Attorney Tom Brown did not return a call for comment.

Investigators said Lane, 37, had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit last Labor Day when he crossed a double yellow line on State Road A1A south of Melbourne Beach to pass several other vehicles before striking Sebastian Inlet park ranger Gerald Morelock, who was riding a 1983 Yamaha motorcycle.
Morelock’s family has since filed a civil suit against Lane. The next court date in that case is set for 8:45 a.m. Friday in Titusville, court records show.
For the criminal case, Berry said he expects Allawas to schedule a conference in the near future for attorneys to lay out a timetable for gathering evidence.
