Buell stays on the road

BUELL has issued a statement announcing that it will now not be entering the off-road motorcycle market.
The company had told dealers early this year it intended to produce an off-road bike, designed specifically for closed-course competition, within the next two years.
“Buell has made the business decision to focus resources on its street motorcycle business, including continued development of the XB line and the launch of the all new 1125R superbike platform,” said Buell President and Chief Operating Officer Jon Flickinger. “Buell customers and dealers have expressed incredible excitement for the new 1125R superbike and our entry into the mainstream sportbike market.”
“We designed the 1125R from the rider down,” said Erik Buell, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer at Buell Motorcycle Company. “The 1125R takes Buell to a new level of performance, while continuing to embrace the fundamental Buell principles of performance motorcycle design and offering a great sport motorcycle riding experience.”
