Tricky Air & Billet refines shock line

110908amd.jpgTRICKY Air & Billet has reworked its stainless steel shocks used in its air-ride suspension systems.

The company is now producing the shocks for Harley and custom application as two separate units instead of a single one-piece unit.

The change has been made in response to the company’s research into the variations in frame design around the shock mount area. Arnie Gonzalez, Owner and President of Tricky Air & Billet, said of the redesign: “Since we made this separation change to our shocks we have noticed a huge improvement in the wear factor between the shaft and bushing seals. Splitting of our once ‘tied together’ unit lets our shocks find their individual location more freely in the bike while still delivering true center hole to center hole precise measurements.”

Additionally, the company is beginning work on a line of triple trees to allow its Hayabusa front forks to be fitted to Road Kings and other Harleys.

S&S air cleaner kits

020808amd.jpgTHE Tear Drop air cleaner from S&S is instantly recognizable. However, many potential users mistakenly believe it will only fit S&S Super E or G carburetors. This is not the case as it is available to bolt directly onto a stock CV carb or single bore throttle body.

S&S claim that the chromed air cleaner will offer up to an eight percent increase in horsepower and 10 percent more torque, when used to replace a stock air cleaner. Kit includes backing plate, high-flow pleated air cleaner element, mounting brackets (as required) and Tear Drop cover.

Applications are available for almost every Harley-Davidson motorcycle built from 1986 through to 2008.

Diamond Edition parts from Covingtons

COVINGTONS Customs has increased its line of Diamond Edition parts with the addition of three new items.

120608amd.jpgThe fork slider covers are from CNC machined billet aluminum and fit ‘80 and onward FLH models. The finish is black anodizing with diamond-cut fins. To match the slider covers, Covingtons are also now producing diamond-edged Street Glide dash inserts and gas doors.

The two other new parts work with the stock dash assembly on ‘08 Street Glides, ‘06 onward Street Glides, ‘04 and ‘05 FLHTCSEs. Like the covers, they are anodized and diamond-cut from CNC machined billet aluminum.

Kustom Tech parts

KUSTOM Tech has expanded its line of vintage styled aluminum and brass parts.

280408amd2.jpgThe aluminum Spinner style front hub is machined from solid billet and drilled for 40 spokes. The 1140mm width hub is supplied with 3/4in bearings and does not accept a brake disc.

A line of Old School styled pegs and grips are available from Kustom Tech, which feature a fabric tape covering and spiked brass end caps. The grips fit 1in handlebars and are offered for use with internal or external throttles. The matching pegs fit all OEM style 7/16in female mounts.

Grandeur Cycle’s ‘Missing Link’

040408amd.jpgGRANDEUR Cycle says: “At last there is a properly designed and easily installed stabilizer for the FLH and FLT.”

The ‘Missing Link’ stabilizer has been designed to eliminate tank slap, rear steer or high speed wobble problems which are not uncommon on rubber-mounted models, such as Dressers and Road Kings. These issues occur due to the rubber mounted engine, transmission and swingarm moving sideways under heavy compression, such as when cornering at speed.

Grandeur’s ‘Missing Link’ is designed to complement the factory-fitted adjustable stabilizers mounted to the front and top of the engine. It is said to help keep the engine centered in the frame and to prevent the rubber mounts from being compressed and moving side to side by the road forces on the rear tire. With the ‘Missing Link’ fitted, the rubber mounts can only flex up and down, as designed, keeping the driveline centered in the frame.

The entire unit is made in steel, finished with powdercoat and designed to mount above the bottom of the transmission on all models of FLH and FLT 2002 to present.

JayBrake Defender

270308amd2.jpgJAYBRAKE’S Defender is a locking system designed to prevent a motorcycle from moving and it is claimed not to cause damage if anyone tries to ride the bike before unlocking it.

After the existing caliper is removed, the Defender is mounted permanently on the front fork, and then the caliper is remounted on the Defender.

To lock the bike, the spring-loaded hardened stainless steel locking pin is inserted into the Defender and the bike needs to be rolled a few inches. This allows the pin to engage through one of the rotor holes. The bike is then immobilized.

270308amd.jpgThe Defender will work with stock rotors as well as many aftermarket brands. Multiple models of Defender are available to ensure a direct bolt-on application for 1984 to current H-D models (excluding Springer). Defender models have also been developed to fit 2003 onward Victory motorcycle models.

The JayBrake Defender is available in polished, chromed, satin black anodized, and satin clear anodized finishes, and left and right side mounting versions.

Daytona ASURA multi-function computer

Designed specifically for American V-twin bikes, the Asura’s compact housing (4.7in x 1.7in x 1.14in) offers many mounting options. NAMZ handlebar extension harnesses

190208amd.jpgNAMZ has responded to customer requests and made handlebar extension harnesses which work with the Molex connectors on 2007 and up H-D models, after Harley changed from Deutsch connectors.

The switch extensions are available in four popular sizes, 4in, 8in, 12in and 15in for all 2007 - up models. NAMZ also offers extension kits for all factory models from 1996 to 2006. The American made kits come complete with OEM colored wire, installed male and female terminals and heat shrink tubing.

Daytona heated grips

181207amd.jpgDAYTONA Japan, a long-time leader in Japan’s custom aftermarket industry, is offering new heated grips designed specifically for Harley-Davidson models and American V-twins.

A three-level, chromed, heat control is built into the left side grip, which means there are no additional switches or controllers to mount, and the rider does not have to let go of the bars to operate the heat control, allowing for safer riding.

The heated grips are switched on/off with the ignition (if wired as instructed) to avoid battery draining.
